The Needles, off the Isle of Wight

Web design · Isle of Wight

Web design for Isle of Wight businesses, on and off the island.

We build and host websites for island businesses, from holiday lets and cafés to sailing and marine firms. Every meeting happens by video call, so there's no ferry to book on either side, and you still talk directly to the person building your site.

No ferry needed. Everything by video call.

We're based in Southampton, just across the Solent, but an island project runs entirely by video call. Nobody has to plan around a crossing, and being across the water doesn't slow anything down.

  • Remote from start to finish. Short video calls with screen sharing and a live preview link, so you can see progress without leaving your business.
  • Calls at a time that suits you. Book them before guests arrive, after the last sitting or on a changeover day, wherever you are on the island.
  • Planned around the season. We'll agree a timeline that has your site live well before visitors start booking.
  • Hosted and looked after. We host every site we build, so there's nothing technical for you to manage over the busy summer.

Websites that work as hard as island businesses do in summer.

Tourism shapes much of the island's economy, and many businesses earn most of their year in a few busy months. A website has to bring in bookings and enquiries while you're too busy to think about it.

Holiday lets, campsites and B&Bs

Visitors plan island trips well ahead and compare places carefully. Good photos, clear information about the area and an easy way to check availability help you take more bookings directly rather than through commission-charging sites.

Seasonal hospitality

Cafés, pubs and restaurants in towns like Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor need up-to-date opening hours, menus and booking links, which often change between summer and winter.

Independent food and drink

The island has a strong reputation for local food and drink. Producers, farm shops and makers can sell to people who've visited and want to order again from home, with their own online shop.

Sailing and marine businesses around Cowes

Cowes is famous for sailing, and the businesses around it, from chandlers and boatyards to sailing schools and charters, need sites that set out services, prices and availability clearly.

Attractions and activities

Walking, cycling, watersports and family attractions rely on visitors finding them on a phone, often on the ferry or the day they arrive. Speed and clear directions matter.

Year-round local services

Trades, shops and professional services in Newport and across the island serve residents all year. A straightforward business website makes it easy for people to find you and get in touch.

A concept design that suits island food and drink.

Our concept designs are fictional businesses we've designed to show our approach. This one is a close match for the island's cafés, bakeries and producers:

Crumb & Co.

A warm, food-led site with menus, opening hours and online ordering. The same structure suits a seaside café, a farm shop or a producer selling to returning visitors.

Web design on the Isle of Wight: your questions.

You're not on the island. How does that work?

The whole project runs by video call and a shared preview link you can check on your phone. We don't meet in person or visit the island; instead you book calls at a time that suits you, and we share our screen so you can see your site as it's built and tell us what to change.

Can you build a booking site for my holiday let on the Isle of Wight?

Yes. We can build a site that shows your property at its best, describes the area and what's nearby, and takes enquiries or links to the booking or channel-management system you already use. If you want a fully custom booking system with payments and accounts, we'll scope it with you and quote for it in writing.

Can I update prices and availability myself during the season?

Yes. With our content management add-on (+£1,000) you can edit text, images and pages yourself. Or ask us: changes are £50 an hour for jobs of an hour or less and £30 an hour for longer ones.

Which parts of the island do you cover?

All of it, including Newport, Ryde, Cowes, Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor, and the villages in between. Because every meeting is a video call, it makes no difference where on the island your business is.

Do island businesses pay more because of the ferry?

No. Our prices are published and the same for everyone, and as all our meetings are video calls there's no ferry involved on either side. Nothing is due upfront and hosting is included.

Planning a website for your island business?

Tell us about your business and when your busy season starts, and we'll set up a video call at a time that suits you. We reply within one business day.
